She was 84 and a native of Independence. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, on Friday, Aug. 5, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on Saturday, Aug. 6, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, Tickfaw, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. John Restrepo, O.P. Interment in Colonial Cemetery, Tickfaw. She is survived by her son, Frank Franco of Tickfaw; three daughters, Mary Ann Franco Carter of Independence and Carmela Franco Wallace and Rosalie Franco Williams, both of Tickfaw; brother, Joseph Sirchia of Chalmette; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Willie" Franco; son, Nicola "Nickie" Franco; parents, Frank and Mary Musso Sirchia; two sisters, Angie Lee and Lena Sammartino; and four brothers, Johnny, George, Emile Sirchia and an infant brother. ***************************************************************************
