She was 61. Visitation at Butler Chapel AME Zion Church, Amite, Friday, May 13, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral service at the church Saturday at 11:30 a.m., conducted by Dr. Francis Williams. Burial in Amite Memorial Garden. Survived by her husband, Varry Francois, Amite; five sons, Ray, Reginald and Lendrick Francois, all of Amite, Jamal Foster, Atlanta, and Kendrick Francois, Baton Rouge; daughter, Rhonda Gillard, Prairieville; 17 grandchildren and great-grandchild. Arrangements by Richardson Funeral Home, Amite. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in the Hammond Daily Star on: 8/1/2012 FRANCOIS, MICHELLE RENEE Michelle Renee Francois, age 55, passed away at home in Tickfaw on July 10. She was the daughter of Darrell and Margaret (Hassman) Francois. She was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by sisters, Monique and Aimee (Joseph Schnetzer) and brothers, David (Coralia), Anton (Solonge), Alan (Susan), and Remy (Amy), and several nieces and nephews. She was a lifelong nurse, caregiver, and teacher to all in the studies of Math, Physics, Chemistry, and general Sciences. She was a kind and generous friend to many, as well as being a fan of the classic corny joke. She will be terribly missed by her friends but will especially be missed by her family. Her mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church in Tickfaw at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, preceded by family visitation beginning at 9 a.m. Interment will follow at Holly Gardens Cemetery in Hammond.
