She was 47 and a native of Independence. Visiting at Welsh Funeral Home, Gonzales, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday. Visiting at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Clint Johnson. Interment in St. John Cemetery, Prairieville. Survived by her longtime companion, Cecil Holmes, Maurepas; a daughter and son-in-law, Yvette and Chris Lanoux, Gonzales; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Shane and Tracy Ellis, Maurepas; and Shawn Ellis, Prairieville; three sisters, Sharon James and Mary Kearce, both of Maurepas, and Connie Chapman, Pierre Part; two brothers, Cecil Ellis, St. Amant, and Curtis Ellis, Maurepas; and eight grandchildren, Chauntel, Christian and Christopher Lanoux Jr. and Trent, Jacob, April, Micheala and Emma Ellis. Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Walter and Berniece Annie Andrews Ellis; three sisters, Betty Campbell, Leona Stewart and Edna Joyce Ellis; and three brothers, Clarence and Jimmy Ellis and Richard Achord. ********************************************************************************
