He was 75. Visitation and rosary was held Thursday evening at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home, Iota. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Iota, at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, celebrated by the Rev. David Broussard, pastor. Interment in church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Anna Fontenot Frey of Kentwood; a daughter, Judy F. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Richard Frey; his parents, Albert and Lena Prather Frey; a sister, Mania Marie Frey; and three brothers, Walter, August and James Frey. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge) on: 4/19/2001 FREY, CHRIS HELEN VALENTINE Chris Helen Valentine Frey passed away Saturday, April 14, 2001, after a lengthy illness. A memorial service was held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel in Shreveport. An interment service will be held at Amite Memorial Gardens in Amite on Saturday at 10 a.m. Randy Foulks, Mrs. Frey's nephew, will give a brief eulogy. Mrs. Frey was born in Baton Rouge on Nov. 8, 1926. As a long-time resident of Amite, she was active in the First Methodist Church, and served as a school teacher for many years in area schools. She moved to Shreveport in 1994 to be near her children and grandchildren. She was an active member of Lakeview Methodist Church until she moved to Summerfield Retirement Community. Last year she joined Willow Point Baptist Church. Mrs. Frey is survived by a son, Douglas F. Frey and wife Deborah Clingan Frey; a daughter, Helen Frey Breen and husband John O. Breen; a brother, Fredrick D.Valentine and wife Doris Jean Elder Valentine; grandchildren, Robbie Kathleen Frey, Michael D. Frey, Katelyn M. Breen and Samuel R. Breen; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester O. Valentine and Ada Floyd Valentine; a sister, Adah Valentine Foulks; and a brother, L.O. She was born on Wednesday, July 1, 1925, in McDonoghville, Louisiana, daughter of Joachian Landry and the late Maude Doiron Landry. Surviving are her husband, Orland Charles Frey, Sr.; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl Doiron Bergeron and Raymond; two sons and daughters-in-law, Chad D. Frey and Carolyn, and Orland Frey, Jr., and Beverly; a sister, Carol Winter; three grandchildren, Cary Schouest, Amy Frey, and Brent Prescott; and three great-grandchildren. A brother, Joseph Landry; two sisters, Doris Hodges and Elsie Ruffino; and a grandson, Charles "Chucky" Schouest, preceded her in death.
