He passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, after a brief illness. Charles was a resident of Amite and member of Amite Church of Christ. He was a graduate of Amite High School in 1952 where he met his wife, Jacqueline Fulda and played football for all four years. He also graduated with a bachelor's degree from Northwestern State University. Mr. Fulda is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jacqueline Juanita Fulda; two children: a son, Charles Julius Fulda IV, and daughter, Cindy Lynn Green; two grandchildren, Sean Wayne Green and Dustin Layne Green; two brothers, Fieldon John Fulda and George Earle Fulda; son-in-law, Wayne Louis Green; daughter-in-law, Karen Crosby; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Julius Fulda Jr. and Georgie Stafford Fulda; and son, Jonathan Layne Fulda. Mr. Fulda was a distinguished military veteran who served in both the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army. He served overseas in various locations including Kadena Air Force Base, Okinawa, where he and his wife gave birth to their first son, Charles Julius Fulda IV, in 1957. Due to the location of his first son's birth, Pete was able to telephone his parents in Amite, where it was still the day before the birth. He also served two tours in Vietnam and was awarded the U.S. Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service. After retirement, he continued to travel throughout the world working for numerous corporations supporting their IT objectives. After retirement, he returned home to live in his hometown of Amite. He enjoyed life, family and his church. He will be missed by all that knew him. Jackie was a resident of Amite, Louisiana and member of Amite Church of Christ. She was a graduate of Amite High School 1952 where she met her husband, Charles "Pete" Fulda III and was a member of the cheerleading squad and basketball team. She also graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Northwestern State University and went on to obtain her Nursing Home Administrators License. Mrs. Fulda is survived by her son, Charles Julius Fulda IV, and daughter, Cindy Green. Two grandchildren, Sean Wayne Green and Dustin Layne Green; one brother, Richard Patrick Hord; son-in-law, Wayne Louis Green and daughter-in-law, Karen Crosby along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard W. Hord and Carrie Bobbitt; her husband, Charles "Pete" Julius Fulda III; one son, Jonathan Layne Fulda. Mrs. Fulda was stationed with her husband throughout the world during his distinguished military career. After his retirement from the military they continued to work and live in various places throughout the United States. Her last career move was to come home to Amite with Pete. She wanted to be near her family and friends she had grown up with and enjoyed such fond memories of. She became the Nursing Home Administrator at the Amite Nursing Home and worked there until her retirement. She enjoyed life, family and her church. She will be missed by all that knew her. Fulda Dies Ponchatoula lost an old and highly respected citizen Friday afternoon in the death of Louis P. Fulda, 85. The deceased made his home in Ponchatoula for the past 30 years, coming here from New Orleans, where he was a member of Germania Lodge F. and A. M., also of the Consistory which will conduct the funeral services Sunday. Mr. Fulda is survived by one son Chas. J. Fulda of Amite and one daughter Eunice J. Fulda, also two nephews Will and L.A. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Ingraffia Sr.; second husband, Gaston A. Fulda; two sons, Philip Ingraffia and Johnny Boy Ingraffia Jr.; a granddaughter, Jacquelyn Ingraffia; five sisters, Causey Denella, Lena Falcone, Lillie Michel, Virginia Junda and Theresa Lopinta; and three brothers, Sam, Felix and Joseph Costanza. She was the owner and operator of Fulda's Grocery Store and a member of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church.
