Mrs. Gahn was 91. She had been living with her daughter in Amite for several years at the time of her death. Mrs. Gahn was a member of the Golden Age Club in Hammond and was an enthusiastic amateur painter and handicrafter. She was employed until her retirement as a seamstress at Rosenblum's Department Store in Hammond. She is survived by two daughters, Karen Griffin of Amite and Catherine Glass of Austin, Texas; two sons-in-law, T.C. White of Baton Rouge and Harrell Griffin of Amite; two sisters, Mrs. Dora LeBlanc and Mrs. Nora Borel of New Iberia; a brother, Godfrey Chriss of New Iberia; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Gahn Jr.; and her daughter, Joy Estha Gahn White. Visitation will be at McKneely Funeral Home in Amite on Friday Oct. 21, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. until service at St. Helena Catholic Church in Amite at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Joe Camilleri. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery, Hammond. Donations in her memory may be made to North Oaks Hospice or to St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Hammond. ***************************************************************************
