She was born Monday, April 10, 1933 in Independence, Louisiana, daughter of the late Samuel DeSalvo and Agnes Muscarello. She was a retired Administrative Assistant. Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Kelley G. and L. Dalton Bradley; son and daughter-in-law, Shawn J. and Jeanne Wirth Gallagher; six grand- children, Tiffany and Jordan Gutierrez, and McKenna, Collin, Patrick and Kevin Gallagher, along with five brothers, Anthony, Salvador, John, Michael and Charles DeSalvo and one sister, Carolyn D. Cate. Glenda Russum Kennedy Gallagher was born January 31, 1959 and passed away April 30, 2009 at her home in Amite. Glenda was 50, a native of Hazelhurst, MS and a resident of Amite. She was the daughter of Glenn Russum, Picayune, MS and the late Qujett Russum. She is survived by 2 daughters, Captain Britney Kennedy, El Paso, Texas and Ann Blythe Kennedy, Amite; 2 sisters, Glennell and husband Danny Lumkin, Seminary, Mississippi, Gaylia and husband Steve Calimag, Cross, South Carolina. Glenda was preceded in death by her husband, William R. "Bill" Gallagher. Glenda was a true caregiver working at Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center as a Registered Nurse for 20 years. She served as a trustee for Amite United Methodist Church, a past Junior Auxillary Member and served on the Advisory Board for Prime Care Home Health. A memorial service celebrating Glenda's life will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Amite, on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Brady Whitton officiating. Glenda was a 15 year breast cancer survivor and she shared her spirit with others fighting cancer. Tim was born Feb. 2, 1952, in San Diego and graduated from Holden High School in Holden and Spencer Draughn Business College in Baton Rouge. Tim served his country with pride in Vietnam as a U.S. Marine from August 1970 to August 1972. Tim married Lena Ann Johnson on Dec. 16, 1973, in Baton Rouge. They shared nearly 25 love-filled years together. Tim loved sports, especially LSU basketball, and spent many years volunteering as a basketball coach and as a referee. He loved to read novels and watch Animal Planet and the Discovery Channel. He also had a vast knowledge of music and shared that love for music with his grandchildren. He spent time working as restaurant manager and industrial electrical contractor. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Russum Gallagher, Amite; 3 daughters, Jennifer Gallagher, Phenix City, AL, Megan Gallagher, Baton Rouge, and Emily Gallagher, Murfreesboro, TN; 2 step-daughters, Brittany Kennedy, El Paso, TX and Ann Kennedy, Amite; a brother, Michael Gallagher and wife, Diane, of Opelousas, LA; 4 sisters, Jean Alford and husband, Jack, of Orlando, FL, Patti Gallagher and husband, Tom Helm, of Austin, TX, Peggy Gallagher and husband, John Isby, Anchorage, Alaska, and Kay Gallagher and husband, Bob Herrick, San Jose, CA.
