Metairie - Longtime Hammond resident Edward Joseph Gaspard Jr. died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003. Born in Bayou Goula, he was a retired auditor and senior vice president of First Guaranty Bank of Hammond and past vice president of the Hammond Building and Loan Association. He was also the past president of the Hammond Lions Club. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Hoover Gaspard; one daughter, Evelyn Gaspard Auld; two sisters, Gladys Marie Stumpf and Mae Regina Fisher; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His parents, Victoria Regina Naquin and Edward Joseph Gaspard Sr.; and one brother, Earl Benedict Gaspard, preceded him in death. Visitation will be Thursday beginning at 9 a.m. until a funeral Mass at All Faiths Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., at 1 p.m. Burial be in St. John Cemetery. ******************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star: 2/4/2009 GASPARD, LUCILLE HOOVER Lucille Hoover Gaspard passed away on Friday, January 30, 2009 at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Edward Joseph Gaspard. Mother of Evelyn Gaspard Auld. Daughter of the late Juanita Rohli Hoover and Christian Hoover. Grandmother of Carla Doiron wife of Allen Doiron, Jr., Phillip Auld and Stuart Auld. Great-grandmother of Christopher Doiron and Joseph Doiron. Sister of Albert C. Hoover. She was a native of New Orleans, a longtime resident of Metairie and Hammond and relocated to Covington in 2005 and was a member of St. Peter's NAIM Society. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at 11:00 AM from St. Peter Catholic Church, 125 E. 19th St., Covington, LA with visitation at church on Thursday beginning at 9:30 AM until Mass time. Interment will follow in Hope Mausoleum on Canal St. in New Orleans. E.J. Fielding Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
