Ms. Gay, better known as "Mimi," was known for her loving and nurturing nature. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and best friend. She will be remembered by each and every life she has touched over the years. Ms. Gay was born April 24, 1928, in Hammond, La., the daughter of Noah Traylor and Ruby Gatlin Traylor and granddaughter of James and Florence Traylor and Green and Ella Bigner Gatlin. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; husband, Proteus Julian Gay; and three children, Proteus Jr., Mary Ann, and David Dean.
