"POPS" A retired deputy with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office and a World War II veteran, he died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, at his residence in Hammond. He was 80 and a native of Tickfaw. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Friday. Mass at Holy Ghost Catholic Church at 1 p.m. Friday, conducted by a Dominican priest. Interment in Tickfaw Catholic Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Elaine Grace Gebbia, Hammond; two sons, Sam Gebbia, Covington, and Nick Gebbia Jr., Slidell; a daughter, Sandra G. Curole, Slidell; a stepson, Larry Macaluso Jr., Ponchatoula; three stepdaughters, Cheryl M. Clark, Holden, Carla M. Kirkland, Loranger, and Lisa M. Genco, Hammond; two sisters, Mary Gonzales, Arabi, and Lou Bova, Baton Rouge; two brothers, Charles Gebbia, Oak Ridge, and Jim Gebbia, Independence; 15 grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. Preceded in death by his first wife, Santina Macalusa Gebbia; parents, Sam and Santa Bravata Gebbia; a brother, John Gebbia; an infant brother, Joseph Gebbia; and three sisters, Lena Musacchia, Margaret Knight and Ann Bittel.
