GENNARO, ANTOINETTE SCHIRO  "LENA" 
A homemaker and a resident of Hammond, she died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at 
Hammond Nursing Home. She was 84 and a native of Independence. Visitation was at 
Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. 
Visitation at the funeral home from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday. Mass of 
Christian Burial at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, Independence, at 10:30 a.m. 
Wednesday. Entombment in Colonial Mausoleum. Survived by a son, Emile J. Gennaro 
of Brookhaven, Miss.; three daughters, Antoinette G. McNeese of Poplarville, 
Miss., and Virginia G. Creel and Marie G. Caldorera, both of Independence; a 
brother, Tony Schiro of Independence; four sisters, Grace S. Restivo of Tickfaw, 
Mary S. Dattalo and Rita S. Nuccio, both of Chalmette, and Josephine Gulino of 
Independence; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death 
by her husband, Emile G. Gennaro; a daughter, Louise Gennaro; parents, Carlo and 
Virginia "Jenny" Liuzza Schiro; and three brothers, Luke, Jake and Theodore 
Schiro. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations requested to North Oaks Hospice, 
P.O. Box 2668, Hammond, LA 70404-2668.

GENNARO, MARY LIUZZA      
A resident of Amite, she died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at North 
Oaks Rehabilitation Hospital, Hammond. She was 86 and a native of Independence. 
Visitation at St. Helena Catholic Church, Amite, from 9 a.m. until religious 
service at 10 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Jack Nutter. Entombment in 
Colonial Mausoleum, Independence. Survived by a daughter, Josephine Gennaro 
Capdeboscq, Amite; two grandsons, Michael Capdeboscq, New Orleans, and Milton 
Capdeboscq, Amite; and numerous nieces and nephews, Preceded in death by her 
husband, Louis Gennaro; six brothers and two sisters. McKneely Funeral Home, 
Amite, in charge of arrangements.

GENNARO, MICHAEL ANGELO
Michael Angelo "Wang" Gennaro, 56, passed away Thursday, March 25.  Funeral
services were held Saturday at Holy Ghost Catholic church.  He was the son
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Antonnio Gennaro; he moved to Hammond in 1909.  He
is survived by his wife, the former Edith Jones; one son, Anthony, 17; one
daughter, Marie, 13; one sister, Mrs. Mamie LaCommare of Indinola, Miss.;
two brothers, Michael and Charles Gennaro, both of Buffalo, N.Y.; many
nieces and nephews.  One niece, Miss Marie LaCommare, is stationed in Japan
with the American Red Cross.

GENNARO, SAM C.
A resident of Hammond, he died at 1:35 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at North 
Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. He was 75 and a native of Independence. 
Visiting at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, Independence, from 9 a.m. Friday 
until religious services at 10:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Paul McDuffie. 
Interment in Colonial Cemetery. Survived by two sons, Charles Gennaro, Mobile, 
Ala., and Mark Gennaro, Yazoo City, Miss.; five grandchildren; and a sister, 
Anna Whalen, Independence. Preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Rosalie G. 
Gennaro; parents, Carlo and Mary Gennaro; and a sister, Lt. Col. Josephine H. 
Gennaro. McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, in charge of arrangements.
