She was a native of Independence and a resident of Hammond for 69 years. She was a homemaker and was retired as a cashier for Paul's Cleaners and "Lil" Johnny's Restaurant. Visiting at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd., Hammond, on Tuesday, Dec. 27, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Hammond, on Wednesday, Dec. 28, at 10 a.m. Interment in Rose Memorial Park Cemetery. She is survived by a daughter, Marie Giannobile Donaldson and spouse Ted Donaldson of Baton Rouge; sons, Charles and spouse Sandra Ducote Giannobile of Robert, and Victor "Buddy" and spouse Joann Ferrera Giannobile of Loranger; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Charlie Giannobile Sr.; parents, Angelo and Isabella Currier D'Anna, who were immigrants from Coloeone and Cefalu, Sicily; two brothers, Joseph and Emile D'Anna; and a sister, Vennera D'Anna Calandro. Participants in the Mass of Christian Burial will be her granddaughters, Kathy Giannobile Alford, Marybeth Donaldson West, and Dina and Amy Donaldson; great- granddaughter, Kristen Braud; and niece, Patti Giannobile. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Patrick, Michael, Charles "Chuck" and Christian Giannobile, Daniel Donaldson and Warren Bankston. Honorary pallbearers are Emile "Chick" D'Anna Jr., Victor Fazzino, Paul Cucchiara, Joe D'Anna Jr., Vic and Frank Giannobile and Ted Donaldson. She was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Hammond, and a charter member of the Knights of Columbus, John F. Kennedy Council 4952 Ladies Auxiliary. She was born on Friday, November 18, 1927 in Hammond, daughter of the late Philip and Mary Scalia Patti. Surviving are her daughter, Patti Giannobile; son, Robert Giannobile; and 2 sisters, Josie States, Cam Cristensen. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Giannobile Sr.; son, Paul Giannobile Jr. and her brother, Frank Patti.
