Mrs. Giddens, 73, was retired from teaching in the Tensas and Tangipahoa Parish school systems. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Kent Newell. Interment in Neal Cemetery, Husser. She is survived by a sister, Lois Magierka; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, William Giddens; five brothers, Cecil, Marvin, Ralston, Vern and Edward Bahm; three sisters, Margaret Bahm, Beatrice Burton and Mona Esseltine; parents, Lillian and Edward Bahm; and a niece and two nephews. He was a native of Roseland. He is survived by two sons, Rhoderick Giddens of Houston, Texas, and Chuck Bronn of Baton Rouge; two daughter, Terri Lynn Mitchell of Houston, Texas, and Ellen Giddens Maryland of Amite; five sisters, Rosemary Shirkey, Jo Alice Housley, Gloria Tucker, Myra Snelling and Kary Carter; three brothers, Vincent Crook, Jesse Dan Crook and Charles Crook; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Giddens Crook; his father, Samuel Giddens; a stepfather, Jesse Crook; one brother, Stephen Ray Giddens; and one sister, Barbara Conerly. Visitation will be Friday at Richardson's Funeral Home, Amite, from 5 to 9 p.m. The Rev.
