Isaiah 41:10. On Thursday, April 12, 2007, at her daughter's home in Baton Rouge, with her loving children and grand- children at her bedside, Deloris peacefully slipped away from this life to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her devoted husband of 54 years. She entered into a place where there is no weeping, no pain and no sorrow, knowing she fulfilled God's purpose for her on this Earth. Deloris was born to the union of the late Samson F. King and Jessie Derosin on Sept. 2, 1935, in Natalbany. Visiting at Robert's United Methodist Church, 201 Julia St., Denham Springs, Dr. Alonzo Campbell, pastor, on Saturday, April 21, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., the Rev. Leroy Taylor officiating. Entombment in Evergreen Memorial Park Mausoleum in Denham Springs. Deloris leaves to mourn and cherish her memory five daughters, Wendy Baham, her devoted caregiver, and husband Dietrick, and Sheryl Gilmore, all of Baton Rouge, Deloris Kinchen of Houston, Diane Gilyard of Salida, Calif., and Gwendolyn Caleb and husband Vernon of Denham Springs; four sons, George Kinchen Jr. of Avondale, James Kinchen and wife Rita of Denham Springs, and Isaac Gilyard Jr. and Timothy Gilyard and wife Lyrica, all of Prairieville; 24 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Kinard and Debra Lewis, both of Baton Rouge; goddaughter, Mechelle Primus; loyal friend, Joyce Primus; caregiver and friend, Velma Barnes; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Gilyard Sr.; parents; two sisters, Jerry Ann Johnson and Norman Jean Davis; brother, Leon Derosin Jr.; maternal and paternal grandparents; two grandsons, Mannjay Brooks and Charles Nehemiah Gilmore; and son-in-law, Dr. Charles Gilmore Sr. MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home Inc., Denham Springs, is in charge of arrangements. ***************************************************************************
