Robert E. "Bob" Gingles, 82, of Stanley died Jan. 7 in DeSoto Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Magnolia Baptist Church in Hunter with the Rev. A. F. ³Junior² Ott and the Rev. Delman Rogers officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery under direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home's Mansfield Chapel. A native of Elberton, Ga., Mr. Gingles moved with his family to Kildare, Texas, in 1925, grew up in Ida, La., and moved to Stanley in 1947. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy ³Seabees,² a Riley-Beaird retiree, and a member of and deacon board chairman at Magnolia Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Samuel and Ella Mae; sisters, Louise Smith and Thelma Svetlik and brothers, ³Buster,² Tom and John Gingles. Survivors are his wife of 59 years, Elsie Caston Gingles; sons, Eddie Gingles and Roger Gingles of Baton Rouge, Lynn Gingles of Benton, AR, and Keenan Gingles of Hammond; sisters, Sabra Bayliss and Joyce Gingles of Shreveport; brothers, Harris Gingles of Bay City, TX, George Gingles of Shreveport and Billy Gingles of Stanley; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice. ***************************************************************************
