Alvin J. Giroir Jr., 63, a native of Belle Rose and resident of Napoleonville, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Nov 2, 2011. He was in the Army in the Vietnam War and employed with LeBlanc's Payless for more than 18 years. He was a humorous, loving man and will be greatly missed by many. Survived by his mother, Lydia Thibodaux Giroir, Belle Rose; daughter, Amy Giroir, Napoleonville; son, Alvin "A.J." III, Napoleonville; three sisters, Linda Viso, Donaldsonville, Sylvia Coupel, Pierre Part, and Lisa Thibodaux, Belle Rose; brother, Jeffrey Giroir, Independence; three step- daughters, Rose "Reagie," Debbie and Paula "Tnine"; four grandchildren, Aubrey and Rivest Jr. Dempster and Haileigh and Kynzlee Giroir; and a host of other family members and friends. Preceded in death by his wife, Maudrey Mollere Giroir; father, Alvin J. Giroir Sr.; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Giroir, and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Thibodaux. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of D'Ville Community Care Center and staff of Amedysis Hospice. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville, on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Paincourtville, with the Rev. A retired sugar-cane farmer, he was entrusted to God's loving care on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, at his home in Baton Rouge. He was 71 and a native of Belle Rose. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville, on Thursday, March 2, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on Friday from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jules Catholic Church, Belle Rose, at 11 a.m. Friday, with the Rev.
