He was a deacon at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Albany and a World War II Air Force Veteran. He is survived by his wife, Lillie Fletcher Glascock of Albany; one daughter, Clara Holleyman of Waco, Texas; one son, Gary Glascock of Albany; three sisters, Vera Koleszar and Patricia Glascock, both of Albany, and Mildred Maruschak of Baton Rouge; and two grand- children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Nora Kinchen Glascock; and one sister, Evelyn "Sis" Gill. Visitation will be today at Geisler Funeral Home, Hammond, from 5 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until the Rev. Joe Dunn and the Rev. Alton Foster conducts the funeral at 10. Burial will be in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Albany. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge): 1/23/2006 GLASCOCK, EDNA STEWART Edna Stewart Glascock, a resident of Albany, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. She was 85 years old, born Oct. 10, 1920, in Livingston Parish. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Lillian Wheat Stewart and the wife of the late Louis W. Glascock. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Albany, and was retired from the Livingston Parish school system. Surviving are a son, Louis Jewel Glascock of Albany; two daughters, Brenda Bankston and Esteen Stewart, both of Albany; brother, Elmer Stewart of Albany; sister, Delores Bernard of Albany; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a great-great- grandchild. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, W.K. Stewart and Henry Stewart Jr.; a grandson, Charles Jeffery Neal; and a great- grandson, Trey DePhillips. Friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond on Monday, Jan. 23, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Visitation at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Albany, on Tuesday, from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., with the Rev. He was 66, a lifelong resident of Albany and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Louis Jewel was a great dad to his surviving twin sons, Jerry and Terry Glascock, both of Albany; and daughter, Lisa Glascock Drude of Albany. He was adored by his surviving sisters, Brenda G. Bankston and Esteen G. Stewart, both of Albany. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Louis Jewel is also survived by two stepdaughters and a stepson, Robin Laiche of Hammond, Sharon Jacobs, Abita Springs, and Jimmy Ramirez III of Slidell. His parents, Louis Worth Glascock and Edna Irene Stewart Glascock, preceded him in death along with two brothers-in-law, Grant Bankston and Jimmy Stewart. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at Bethlehem Baptist Church on Thursday, May 3, at 11 a.m. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 2, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday at Bethlehem Baptist Church beginning at 9 a.m. until the service time.
