Mrs. Glasper fought a lengthy battle with her illness, but thank God victory has been won. Thelma was born on January 30, 1943 to Henry and Lucille Freeman in Holly Springs, MS. and was the middle child of 10 children. Thelma had a wonderful childhood and was loved by family and her community. She was a 1961 graduate of St. Mary High School and attended Xavier University in New Orleans. A loving mother and grandmother, Thelma was retired from Seventh Ward General Hospital after 17 years of service as a Purchasing Agent. She was an avid painter of ceramics and had a great passion for the New Orleans Saints. Thelma enjoyed Louisiana crabbing, fishing at Bayou Manchac, cooking and creating backyard gardens. She is survived by her daughter, Veronica Freeman, of Baton Rouge, LA and two nephews whom she reared, Kenneth (Tamara) Freeman, Ponchatoula, LA and Kelvin Freeman, Charlotte, North Carolina. She is survived by three sisters: Lois Freeman, Holly Springs, MS, Barbara (James) Rayford, Holly Springs, MS, Margaret Brown, of Memphis, TN. and has five surviving brothers: Henry (Catherine) Freeman, St. Louis, MO, Bernard (Beatrice) Freeman, Anchorage, AK, Leroy (Erma) Freeman, Atlanta, GA, Herbert Freeman, Memphis, TN, Charles (Patricia) and one sister-in-law: Mrs. Maxine Freeman, Memphis TN. Thelma is survived by one grandchild, Kingslee, Baton Rouge, LA and a host of nieces and nephews and devoted friends. Homegoing services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Baton Rouge, LA on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry and Lucille Freeman and her brother, John E.
