A resident and native of Amite, he died at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, in Tickfaw. He was 84. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Hugh Goldsby Sr. and Alma Sanders Goldsby; a brother, Joseph Hugh Goldsby Jr.; a sister, Lillian Goldsby Koepp; a son-in-law, Leslie Lewis Labatut Sr.; a grandson, Leslie Lewis Labatut Jr.; and granddaughter, Lisa Danielle Goldsby. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star on: 9/30/2001 GOLDSBY, ETHEL LOUISE McQUEEN Bogalusa - Ethel Louise McQueen Goldsby, wife of the late Joseph Hugh Goldsby Jr., of Amite and Bogalusa, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, following a brief illness. She was a resident of Amite. A graduate of the Mather School of Nursing at Baptist Hospital in New Orleans, she served several terms on and chaired the Bogalusa Mental Health Advisory Board. She was a member of the Ingleside Literary Society, the Bogalusa Philharmonic Society and St. Matthews Episcopal Church of Bogalusa. Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Goldsby Kolb, and two grandchildren. Burial in Hillview Memorial Cemetery in Bogalusa followed the private funeral service held Saturday with the Rev. Keith Hall, rector of St. Matthews, officiating. Arrangements were with Brown-McGehee Funeral Home, Bogalusa.
