He was an offshore deckhand. Survivors include his mother and step-father, Doris Ann Richards Vega and Raphael Vega; father, Reuben Gonzales; 3 sisters, Christina Sierra, April Gonzales-Ougel, and Michelle Muniz; one brother, Joe David Muniz; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Thelma Louise Myers and one aunt, Yvette Myers. Graveside services at Parklawn Memorial Gardens will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 2 pm conducted by Rev. Louis Husser. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens. She was born in New Orleans and was a retired hairdresser having salons in New Orleans and Hammond. She also served as a hostess for many years at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Homes in Hammond and Ponchatoula. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, including Katie Hellmers Fajoni, of Amite, John Hellmers, of Holden, Sue Stevens Averett, of Port Vincent, Edsel Westmoreland Sr., of Baton Rouge, Shirley Westmoreland Oddo, of Westwego, Roy Tullier, of Terrytown, Linda Tullier Bernard, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., and Patricia Tullier Mangano, of Spring, Texas; a stepgrandson, Bobby Zimmerman; a stepgranddaughter, Heidi Galliano; and many great- nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. "Aunt Lenie" was very loved by them all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmit R. Gonzales; her parents, Leo and Idee Blount Stevens; two sisters, Hilda Stevens Hellmers and Alise Stevens Martin; and a brother, Willie "Brother" Stevens.
