Gorman Jr., 67, died March 20, 2006, at 4:59 p.m. at North Oaks Medical Center. He was retired. He was a member, head deacon and head of the kitchen at First Bethel Independent Methodist Church in Hammond. Survivors include his wife, Alice Engram-Hammed Gorman; his mother, Ella Gorman; two daughters, Margaret (Terrance) Johnson and Lashawn Gorman, both of Hammond; one son, Kenneth Valet; one sister, Ella Mae (Lee) Brown; three brothers, Edward Davis and James Gorman, both of Hammond; and Joe (Deloris) Gorman of Marietta, Ga.; and nine grandchildren and four great-grand- children. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Gorman Sr.; one sister, Fannie Gorman. Visitation will be Friday at First Bethel Methodist Church, Hammond, from 5 to 9 p.m. The Rev. James Harrison will conduct the funeral service Saturday at the church at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Holly Gardens Cemetery, Hammond. N.A.
