Alvis "Al" Joseph Goudeau Jr. passed away at his residence Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at 8:24 p.m. surrounded by his loving family and friends after a courageous six-year battle with cancer. Al was a graduate of Lee High School in Baton Rouge and of Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. He was a veteran of the Army serving at the end of the Vietnam era. After an honorable discharge, he returned home and began a career in the Louisiana State Police force until retiring as Sgt. Al Goudeau. Survived by the love of his life, Paulette Holland Goudeau, Montpelier; stepsons, Kendal Miller and wife Marsha, Mandeville, and Kevin Miller, Montpelier; daughter, Dina Goudeau Flucke and husband Kyle, Covington; son, Michael J. Goudeau and wife Stephanie, Ponchatoula; 11 grandchildren, Madison, Kade, Kelsey and Katelynn "K.K." Miller, Allison Moseley, Matthew Moseley and Linden Moseley Shane and husband Jason, Brody and Courtney Goudeau, Graham and Emma Flucke; two sisters, Mona Faye Goudeau Scardina Kimball, Baton Rouge and Kathleen Goudeau Colvin and husband Randy, Southlake, Texas; sister-in-law, Donna Holland Rushing, and daughter Christina "Bert" Rushing, Hammond; niece, Misty Scardina Purdom and husband Mike and son Kale, Denham Springs; and numerous extended family and friends.
