GOYNES, ALTON ALLEN
Allen Goynes died Thursday, May 13, 2010, at Lane Regional Medical Center, 
Zachary. He was 75, a native of Roseland and a resident of Zachary. He 
retired from the East Baton Rouge Parish school system and the city-parish. 
Visitation at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, on Friday, May 14, was 
from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Visitation continues at the Church of Jesus Christ 
of Latter-day Saints, Pride Ward, Milldale Road in Zachary on Saturday, 
May 15, from 3 p.m. until service at 4 p.m., conducted by Bishop Darwin 
Phenald. Interment in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 51 
years, Sally Kelly Goynes; daughter, Lora Goynes Warren and husband Trey 
Warren, of Baton Rouge; two sons, Scott Goynes, of Houston, and Ross Goynes 
and wife Stacey Comeaux Goynes, of Pride; sister, Waltrine Miller, of 
Hattiesburg, Miss.; brother, Harry Goynes, of Arcola; and 10 grandchildren, 
Karley Goynes, Cory Goynes, Sean Goynes, Logan Goynes, Lesley Goynes, Mason 
Goynes, Claire Goynes, Loryn Goynes Law, Lindsey Warren and Leyna Warren. 
Preceded in death by his father, Alton A. Goynes; mother, Eleanor Cier 
Goynes; son, Kyle Allen Goynes; and grandson, Chase Allen Warren. He 
received his bachelor's degree from Southeastern Louisiana University and 
master's degree in education from LSU. He was a member of Phi Delta Kappa. 
Pallbearers will be Cory Goynes, Sean Goynes, Logan Goynes, Mason Goynes, 
James Kelly, Bryan Kelly, Johnny Bankston, John Bell and Dallin Law. Share

GOYNES, DENZIL ALTON, SR. "DENNY" 
A graveside service will be held at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida
Blvd., on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 2 p.m. for Denzil Alton "Denny" Goynes Sr.
Mr. Goynes, 50 and a resident of Meridian, Miss., died Tuesday, Dec. 12,
2006, in Clarke County, Miss. He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Denise
Goynes Bosarge and husband Toby of Van Cleave, Miss.; son, Denzil Alton
Goynes Jr. and fiancˇe, Stephanie of Meehan, Miss.; grandchildren, Victoria
Reneˇ Bosarge, Gregory Austin Bosarge, Bobby Blake Jerain Goynes, Riley
Desra Goynes, Benjamin Micheal Collatz, Mackenzie Marie Becraft and an
expected grandchild; fiancˇe, Janelle Favre of Wiggins, Miss.; sisters,
Judy Goynes Craig and husband Patrick of Baton Rouge, and Melanie McKean
and husband Mac of Ponchatoula; three nieces and a nephew. He was preceded
in death by his parents, Denzil Hilton Goynes Jr. and Elaine Hodges Goynes.
Visitation at Barham Funeral Home, Meridian, Miss., on Friday, Dec. 15,
from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Honorary pallbearers are Patrick Craig, Toby Bosarge,
Terry Anderson, Russell Brown, Mac McKean, Don Delaney, Randy Mars and EMSA
members. He was a longstanding member of the East Mississippi Sportsman
Association and was self-employed at Auto Acceptance of Meridian. O.C.
Barham Funeral Home of Meridian is in charge of arrangements.

GOYNES, JAMES TYNES "BUD" 
A native of Pine Grove, he died at 5:20 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005, at his
home in Baton Rouge. He was 77 and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean
War. He was a member of Hillsdale Baptist Church. Visitation at Hillsdale
Baptist Church, Hillsdale, on Tuesday, Aug. 9, from 10 a.m. until religious
service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Steven Whatley. Interment in
Hillsdale Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Doris Reeves Goynes, Baton
Rouge; sister, Ivalie Goynes Taskar, Ponchatoula; brother, Roscoe Goynes,
Pine Grove; numerous nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Reeves
Courtney, Greenwell Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents, James
and Alma Goynes; sisters, Elaine Goynes Tiner, Maudine Goynes Tiner, Henry
Faye Goynes Newman and Eva Rose Goynes Jenkins. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Services of Greater Baton
Rouge. McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, is in charge of arrangements.

A resident of Arcola, she died at 7:36 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at 
North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. She was 55 and a native of 
Independence. Visitation at First Baptist Church of Arcola on Thursday, 
June 11, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Visitation resumes at the church on Friday 
from 8 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Bob 
Simpson and the Rev. James Cunningham. Interment in First Baptist Church of 
Arcola Cemetery. Survived by her husband, Harry C. Goynes, Arcola; a 
daughter, Mary Goynes Bel and her husband, John, Arcola; two grandchildren, 
Bailey Bel and John Caleb Bel, both of Arcola; four sisters, Louise Smith, 
Fort Wayne, Ind., Kathy Warren, Roseland, Nena Samuels, Hammond, and Teddy 
Collins, Denham Springs; and three brothers, Michael Catalanotto, Kentwood, 
Tony Catalanotto, Hammond, and Glenn Catalanotto, Roseland. Preceded in

GOYNES, LEE
Pine Grove - Lee Goynes, 66, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at Our Lady of
the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge. He was a native of Lafayette
and a dairy farmer. He is survived by his wife, Ione Goynes of Pine Grove;
two daughters, Debbie Stevens of Loranger and Lee Ann Sibley of Pine Grove;
one brother, Johnnie Goynes of Montpelier; five grandchildren and one
great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Denzil and Ruby
Goynes; and two brothers, J.M. "Jim" Goynes and Denzil "June" Goynes Jr. 
Visitation will be today at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 6 to 9 p.m.
and Friday at Shiloh Baptist Church, Pine Grove, from 9 a.m. until the Rev.
Darwin Hall conducts the funeral at 11. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery,
Pine Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer
Society.
