Ernest Irwin Gras Sr., 76 years old of Tickfaw, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2012. He was born on Thursday, June 20, 1935, in New Orleans, La., son of the late Francis Irwin Gras and the late Lucille Waguespack Gras. Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Ernest and Stefanie Gras Jr. and Johnny and Dawn Gras, son, Dusty Gras, daughters and sons-in-law, Terry and Freddie Shields, Amanda and Jeffery Pearson, and Susan and Wayne Blankenship, daughter, Ashley Gras, brothers and sisters- in-law, Mike and Ester Gras, Eddie and Loraine Gras, brothers, Frank, Jake, and Irvin Gras, sister and brother-in-law, Tina and Billy Graham, 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter, Mary Louise Murphy and grandson, Johnny Gras Jr. Friends will be received Friday, March 30, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Harry McKneely & Son, Hammond. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Saturday, March 31, from 8 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery, Ponchatoula.
