Marshall was an employee of the Dow Chemical Co., La Porte, Texas, from 1984 to 1997. At the time of his death, he was employed by Process Technical Services at Shell Chemical in Deer Park, Texas. Marshall loved life, enjoyed fishing on the bayou and his grandchildren were his "buddies." He never met a stranger and his wife was his best friend and the love of his life. He was a man of great character, strong will and determination, and always had a positive outlook on life. When it came to looking at life, Marshall always saw "the glass is half full." Marshall is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Kathy Silvio Gravatt; daughters, April Smith and her husband, Allen, of Nashville, Tenn., and Jamie Glass and her husband, Jeff, of Sterling City, Texas; sons, Chad Gravatt of Ponchatoula and Trey Reed of Baton Rouge; daughter-in-law, Christy Reed of Baton Rouge; six grandsons, Daniel, Andrew and Grayson Glass, Austin Reed and Hunter and Tyler Smith; two grand- daughters, Katie Smith and Emily Glass; and two sisters, Barbara Stafford of Honolulu and Jean Meall of Washington, D.C. He was dearly loved by his six brothers and sisters-in-law, Lucas and Jeanette Silvio, J.V. and Anna Marie Silvio, Ron and Tee Rinker, R.B. and Marie Maranto, John Jr. and Faye Silvio, and Joe and Connie Silvio; and numerous nieces and nephews and many, many friends. He will be greatly missed by his entire family and all who knew him. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses and staff at Shock Trauma Hermann Hospital. God bless them all. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Johnny Gibbs, Carlin, David and Paul Silvio, Ricky Marshall and Paul Bordelon. Visitation was at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Friday, Dec. 9, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation Saturday at the funeral home chapel from 10 a.m. until funeral service at noon, conducted by the Rev.
