She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and a longtime legal secretary serving in court with judges France Watts, Jr., France Watts, III and Clayton James. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, eating out and spending time with family and friends and was forever a loving mother. She was survived by 2 daughters, Marilyn Greer and Holly Greer Alford both of Hammond, a son Francis Warren Greer of Albany and 3 grandchildren: Robert Greer, Cynthia Greer, and Timothy Alford. She was also survived by 6 great-grandchildren: Spencer, Chase, and Gillian Stingley; Defne, Hale, and Selin Greer. She was preceded in death by her husband Warren Purvis Greer, parents Joseph T. and Ruth Jones Cook and an infant sister Frances Ruth Cook. Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Friday March 20th from 6 until 9 pm. Visitation will continue at 1 pm Saturday at Centenary United Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held in the church at 3 pm with Rev. Steve Porter and Rev. Spiller Milton officiating. Burial will follow in Ellis Cemetery. She was a native of Franklinton and resident of Ponchatoula. She was a teacher at Vineyard Elementary in Ponchatoula, La. for 36 years. Survived by: Sister: Holly Greer Alford of Ponchatoula; Brother: Francis Warren Greer of Albany; Niece: Cynthia Greer of Silver Spring, Maryland; 2 Nephews: Robert Greer and wife Arzu of Houma, Timothy Alford and Bridget of Ponchatoula; 2 Great nephews and 4 Great nieces. She was preceded in death by her father Warren P. Greer and mother Frances Ruth Cook Greer. Many heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Landmark Nursing Home in Hammond, Louisiana and Lifesource Hospice of Baton Rouge. He was 61. He was retired from the Air National Guard with 25 years of service, was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the submarine service, and was also a U.S. Army veteran. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 2 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monday. Religious services at Holy Ghost Catholic Church at 4:30 p.m. Monday, conducted by a Dominican priest. Survived by his wife, Monica D. Greer, Hammond; five sons, Robert S. Greer, Fallon, Nev., Mark Greer, New Jersey, Matthew N. Greer, Hammond, Luke C. Greer, Baton Rouge, and Jonathan R. Greer, Hammond; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Jo Poche, New Iberia, and Ann Williams, St. Amant. He was the guardian of Nicholas DiSabato, Hammond. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert Rowan and Verlie Ophelia Hyde Greer.
