She was born on Saturday, Sept. 22, 1917, in Ponchatoula, daughter of the late Mike and Lottie Howes Cooper. Mrs. Guagliardo was a member of Lee's Landing United Methodist Church and the Hammond Night Lion's Club. She retired from teaching at Champ Cooper Junior High School after 37 years of service. Surviving are her sons & daughters-in-law, Don and Pam Guagliardo, and Tony, Jr. and Linda Guagliardo, 10 grandchildren and their spouses, Jay and Melissa Guagliardo, Mike and Brianna Guagliardo, Dixie and Gene Fletcher, Kortni Guagliardo, Tony, III and Amy Guagliardo, Carrie and George Mercke, Jessica and Bernie Braun, Teresa Guagliardo, Jaime Guagliardo, Rachael and Denis Beck, 23 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Tony Guagliardo Sr., great-grandson, John Cody Guagliardo, brother, Henry Cooper, and sisters, Clara Hayden, Aurelia Bardwell, Felicity Roberts, Blanche McLin, and Eleanor Lavine. Friends will be received on Friday, June 8, 2012, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Saturday, June 9, 2012, from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula. Mr. Guagliardo was an avid sports fan who supported Southeastern Louisiana University, St Thomas Aquinas High School and the New Orleans Saints. He also loved his garden and gardening. He was Navy Veteran and retired from the Hammond Ford dealership where he worked as the Parts Manager for 40 years.
