Funeral services for Armand J. Guedry, Sr., 63, who succumbed Monday at the Wiginton Infirmary, were held Tuesday at Holy Ghost Catholic church. Interment was in Greenlawn cemetery. He was a resident of Hammond for the past 24 years. He is survived by his widow, the former Euphrasie Lambert; one son, Armond J. Guedry, Jr.; two sisters, Mrs. Aydell Savory and Mrs. Vincent Bourgeois, both of St. Amant. A first grandchild was born to Mr. and Mrs. Guedry, Jr. on the same daly that he passed away. ******************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge) on: 7/10/2011 GUEDRY, SIDNEY JOHN, SR. Sidney John Guedry Sr., 80, passed away Friday, July 8, 2011, at Ochsner Regional Medical Center in Kenner. He was a retired bookkeeper, native of New Sarpy and a resident of Norco since 1953. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Guedry; children, Sidney Guedry (Anne), of Hammond, Mark Guedry, of Florien, Linda and Ruth Guedry, of Ponchatoula and Edgar Guedry, of Baton Rouge; brother, Roger Guedry Jr.; sister, Carol Sutton; three grand- children, Sara Powell, Forrest Guedry and Ginger Broussard; five great- grandchildren, Quentin and Gabriel Broussard, Kaitlin, Kendall and Lindsey Powell; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorraine Morvant Guedry; parents, Roger Guedry and Delphine Kinler; daughter-in-law, Linda Rabeaux Guedry; and siblings, Josephine Barrient, Edna Seri, Edith Ancale, Michael Guedry, Agnes LaBranche and George Guedry. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 10, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco. Visitation will continue Monday, July 11, from 9 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon from the church with the Rev. Terry Becnel, celebrant. Entombment will follow in the St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum in Destrehan.
