Gueymard died Monday, May 16, 2005, at her home in Baton Rouge after a long illness. She was born July 12, 1935, the daughter of William Edward "Billy" Butler and Helen Fleming of Ponchatoula. She is survived by her husband, Davis A. Gueymard; brother and sister-in-law, William King and Amanda Butler of Hammond; nephew, Bryan Butler of Pensacola, Fla.; sister-in-law, Anne Gueymard Shirley; first cousin and best friend, Gail Robins O'Quin; and good friend, Leola Chambers. Special and heartfelt thanks are extended by her family to Dr. Frederic T. Billings III and the nurses and staff of Louisiana Hematology-Oncology Associates. Lynn was a graduate of LSU, where she was named to Mortar Board and served as president of Kappa Delta sorority. She was awarded a Rotary Fellowship to the London School of Economics. Her distinguished professional life was spent at Louisiana National Bank, from which she retired as vice president and controller. She was the first woman to be elected to the bank's board of directors. An avid LSU sports fan, she became in recent years an enthusiastic supporter of the LSU softball team. She had a great love for the game of golf and was a longtime active member of the Ladies Golf Association of the Baton Rouge Country Club. Visitation was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Tuesday, May 17, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, conducted by the Rev. Tom Ranzino. Interment in Roselawn Memorial Park in the Fleming family plot. Pallbearers will be John N. Carmena, C. Rodney Chastain, Russell E. Dennis, Richard S. Koonce, O. William O'Quinn and James D. Richmond Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. O.M. Thompson, Dr. Gerald Barber and John L. Constantine.
