GUICE, JOHN FRILEY
Sicily Island - John Friley Guice, 85, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2003, at his
daughter's Ponchatoula home following a lengthy illness.  He was a resident
of Sicily Island, a farmer, a retired merchant, a retired school bus 
driver and a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church.  Survivors include his
son, Keith Guice, Monroe; his daughter, Debbie Longman, Ponchatoula; his
sister, Muriel Guice Wells, Sicily Island; his brothers, Herd Guice, 
Denham Springs, and Loma D. Guice, Sicily Island; five grandchildren and
seven great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian
Wells Guice, his sister, Elois Guice Monroe and his brothers, Woodie and
Lester Langston Guice.  The funeral service will be held at Pine Hill
Baptist Church on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Clois Cole and the Rev.
Dennis Hensley conducting the service. Burial will be in the New Pine Hill
Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home in
Winnsboro.
