They were married for fifty eight years. She was a native of Hammond, LA, and lived previously for thirty five years in New Orleans, LA. She was a graduate of Ole Miss and a member of Kappa Delta sorority for over sixty years. Survivors include four children, Lee R. Gulley, Jr., of Dayton, OH, Richard B. Gulley of La Jolla, CA, Linda Sandell of Bowie, MD, and Douglas Rand Gulley of Baton Rouge, LA ; one niece, Nancy Rand Edwards of Keller, TX and one nephew, Charles Stark Rand, III of Grawn, MI. She also has five grandchildren, Ty Sandell, Leigh Katherine Sandell, Jon Sandell, Stephanie Smith and Lucas Calen Gulley. Her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Charles Stark Rand and brother Charles Stark Rand, Jr. also preceded her in death. Her many friends and relatives are invited to attend the memorial service in celebration of her life, on Saturday. March 7, the family will receive guests from 10:00 a.m. with services at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church 103 North Pine Street, Hammond, LA 70401. His life had been extended for more than 15 years, due to the generosity of an organ donor. He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 14, 1936, son of the late Paul W. and Alice Souther Gulley. He is survived by his wife, Marylyn Gulley and sister-in-law, Andrea Long, both of Hammond. He is also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Mikal Ann and William Jenkins of Antioch CA, and Stefan and Paul Harris of Grants Pass OR; grandchildren, Sean and Leslie Jenkins; brother, Stephen Gulley of Tulsa OK; sister, Myra Gulley of San Antonio TX; sister-in-law, Pat Gulley of Denton TX; a nephew and two nieces, Paul Coleman Gulley, Lisa Mueller and Alison Gulley Ryan. David was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Millard Gulley. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at noon at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church in Hammond, followed by interment of ashes in the churchÕs Memorial Garden.
