Amite - Horace Gurley Sr., 58, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at North Oaks Medical Center. He was a native of New Orleans and resident of Amite. Survivors include his wife, Charlean Gurley, Amite; his son, Horace Gurley Jr., Amite; five daughters, Linda Okotcha of Baton Rouge, Wenda D. Jackson of Hammond, Angie Stokes of Amite, and Cassandra Singleton and Olanda Singleton, both of Independence; two sisters, Deborah Stewarts of LaPlace and Margaret Ann Holmes of Amite; a brother, Gerald W. Spears, New Orleans; his mother, Lena Brisco, Amite; and 19 grandchildren. His father, Horace Gurley, preceded him in death. Visitation will be Monday at Richardson Funeral Home, Amite, from 5 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rock C.O.G.I.C. church. Pastor Adam and Elsia Edwards will conduct the service. Burial will be in Rocky Hills Cemetery, Greensburg. ***************************************************************************
