Born in Amite, she lived in New Orleans the past 57 years. She was a retired purchasing agent at Charity Hospital. She is survived by her two daughters, Jane G. Buckman and Tammy G. Chutz, both of New Orleans; a son, James Edward Gurry of New Orleans; a brother, Woodrow Bankston of Orange, Texas; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Jack Edmond Gurry. The Rev. Earl Faust conducted the funeral Saturday at Bankston Cemetery in Amite. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boys Town and sent to Father Val J. Peter, Boys Town Center, Boys Town, NE, 68010.
