What a wonderful time to see her loved ones in Heaven. She was 84. She died at her residence in the Plains on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009. Visiting will be at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, on Saturday, Dec. 26, from 10 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Ed Jelks. Interment will be in Redwood Cemetery, Slaughter. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law whom she loved like a son, Connie and Joe Aslin, of Plains; a son and daughter in law, John and Jan Hadden, of Okolona, Miss.; two grandsons whom she loved very much, Dustin and Travis Aslin, of Plains; and a brother, Russell Jelks, of Tickfaw. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy J. Hadden; two grandsons, Marshall and Brandon Hadden; parents, John and Eloise Jelks; sisters, Genevive Lawrence, Nan Lawrence and Marjorie Wagner; and brothers, Jay Jelks and Harold Jelks. Pallbearers will be James Jelks, Ken Jelks, Mike Pate, Michael Pate, Charles Strain and Miki Milton. She was a member of Ethel Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for more than 60 years and a WMU Director.
