Thompson Funeral Home, Hammond, LA HAKENJOS, WALTER H. Age 86 and a resident of Holden, Walter passed away on Sunday, October 06, 2013 at North Oaks Medical Center. He served in the U.S. Navy, during WWII and was a 20 year member of the Amvets, having served as State Commander and a member of the American Legion Post 268. Walter also served 20 years for the Young at Heart and retired from Bellsouth, after 32 years of dedicated service. Walter was a parishioner of St. Margaret Catholic Church in Albany. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather and brother, whom will be missed dearly. Walter leaves behind his wife and the love of his life of 53 years, Rosemary ÒRoseÓ Sevin Hakenjos; son, Clifton J. Saxon, along with 11 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Berthadele Hakenjos Mendoza; sister-in-law, Delores Ditcharo, as well as, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Preceding Walter in death were his parents, William and Bertha Hakenjos; sons, Carl H. Kunert and Michael Joseph Kunert; brothers, William Hakenjos and Warren Hakenjos.
