"JIMMY" A resident and native of Pumpkin Center, he died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at his home. He was 64 and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was the owner of Sleepy Hallow Campground, a salesman for the Gateway Ford dealership, a Tangipahoa Parish school bus driver and owner of a family-owned landscaping business. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2004. Visitation at Macedonia Baptist Church, Pumpkin Center, from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2004, conducted by the Rev. Melvin Adams. Interment in church cemetery. She was a Springfield native. Survivors include sons Russell Haltom and Jimmy Halton Sr., both of Pumpkin Center; daughter Billie Faust, Pumpkin Center; sister Roxie Brewer, Pumpkin Center; 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rosco Haltom Sr.; son Rosco Holtam Jr.; and sister Ludia Hill. Visitation will be today from 6-10 p.m. at Geisler Funeral Home in Hammond and on Monday from 8:30 a.m. until the funeral in the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m. The Rev. Jack Mulkey will conduct the funeral. Burial will be in Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery in Pumpkin Center. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge): 6/20/2005 HALTOM, RUSSELL "ROSCOE" A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, he passed away Friday, June 17, 2005, at his home in Pumpkin Center. He was 63 and a native of Pumpkin Center. Russell was employed with R.J. Booty Construction Co. and he retired as owner and operator of Haltom Construction. He served as a member of the Tangipahoa Parish School Board and the Tangipahoa Parish Police Jury and as an assistant deputy sheriff under Sheriff Frank Edwards. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda Milton Haltom of Pumpkin Center; three sons, Ronnie Haltom and Jeffery Haltom, both of Pumpkin Center, and Roscoe "Trey" Haltom III of Ponchatoula; a sister, Billie Ruth Haltom Faust of Pumpkin Center; and four grandchildren, Kristyn Haltom, Justin Haltom, Sarah Haltom and Savannah Haltom. Russell was preceded in death by a twin son, Donald Haltom; parents, Roscoe and Ruby Lee Hill Haltom; and two brothers, Roscoe Haltom Jr. and Jimmy Haltom. Visitation will be at Geisler Funeral Home, Hammond, on Tuesday, June 21, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Visitation continues at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, June 22, from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Melvin Adams. Burial in Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery in Pumpkin Center. Pallbearers will be Wayne Martin, Larry Cummings, Norman Jenkins, James "Jimbo" Haltom, Ernest Carrier and Timothy "Timbo" Milton.
