HALTON, ATHELENE
Age 77 and a lifelong resident of Pumpkin Center, Athelene passed away 
Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at her nephew's home in Pumpkin Center. A very 
active member of Jerusalem Baptist Church, Athelene always participated in 
Vacation Bible School and absolutely loved being a part of "Happy Hearts".
On September 19, 1952, Athelene was married to her late husband, Roscoe 
Halton. Their only son, Robert L. Halton survives her along with one 
granddaughter, Julie Schafer, both of Pumpkin Center. She leaves behind 
her siblings, Opal White, Vesper Henson, Robert "Teddy" Carpenter, Hugh
Carpenter, Vernon "Bo" Carpenter, Ferndeze Carpenter and Jarvis Carpenter, 
along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.  Also preceding her in 
death are one sister, Guessner Starkey and four brothers, Charles 
Carpenter, Willard Carpenter, Layvonne Carpenter and Isthmal Carpenter.
She will be sadly missed by her loved ones and her church family.  
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral 
services from Jerusalem Baptist Church on Friday, May 15th at 11:00 a.m. 
with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Rev. Randal Pike will officiate 
the services and interment will follow in the church cemetery.

HALTON, ROBERT "ROB" 
Age 58 and a longtime resident of Pumpkin Center, Robert passed away on 
Friday, March 8, 2013 at North Oaks Medical Center. He was employed with 
Lallie Kemp Hospital. Robert leaves behind his wife, Sherry Halton and 
stepdaughter, Julie Schafer. Preceding Robert in death were his parents, 
Roscoe, Jr. and Athelene Carpenter Halton. Relatives and friends of the 
family are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. 
Thompson Funeral Home, west of Hammond; on Saturday, March 16, 2013 from 
9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in 
Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery in Pumpkin Center. Condolences and other
