His car went out of control and ended upside down in the canal where he was trapped inside. The body was sent to Hamder's former home in Butler, Penn. where services will be held on Friday. The body was accompanied by his brother-in-law, Herbert Ramage of Ponchatoula. Mrs. Hameder and Mrs. Ramage left Wednesday for Butler. During World War 2, Hamder was in charge of the Post Exchange at the Hammond Army Air Base. A native of Syria, he is survived by his wife; one son, Pete Hamder, Jr.; three brothers and three sisters, including Mrs. Herbert Ramage of Ponchatoula. ***************************************************************************
