HAMEL, ROBERT ALFRED SR.
Kenner - Robert Alfred Hamel Sr., 65, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, at the
V.A. Medical Center, New Orleans. He was a native of Kenner, and a U.S.
Army veteran of Vietnam with the 82nd Battalion having been awarded the
Purple Heart. He is survived by his children, Carol Ann, Barbara Ann,
Virginia Ann and William "Billy"; sisters and brothers, Anthony, Albert,
Cookie, Nancy, Annette, Billie Jean and Fern; numerous grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two children, Mary Ann and
Robert Jr.; and brothers, Alfred Jr. and Vernard Leo. The Rev. Carlin
Sanders conducted a graveside service Saturday at New Life Baptist Church
Cemetery, Tickfaw. Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, was in
charge.
