He was a long time resident of Chalmette, La., until hurricane Katrina. He then relocated to Hammond, La. He graduated from Lynn Oaks School in 1986 and went on to William Carey University, graduating in 1998 on the President's List and received the honor of Mississippi's Business Man of the Year. He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Arabi, where he was church treasurer. He is survived by his parents, Roland and Carol Handrop, his sister, Lori Handrop-Mendoza, brother-in-law, Richard M. Mendoza, nieces and nephews, Mason, Mikah, MacKenzie and Taylor, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends will be received on Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel in Hammond, on Monday, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Hammond, La.
