She was a loving mother and will be sadly missed by her children, family and many special friends. A retired merchandiser for JC Penney with 26 years of service, she went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 6, 2007, at 12:30 a.m. surrounded by her family at Ochsner Medical Center-Baton Rouge. She was 68, a resident of Pride and a native of Brittany. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, Baker, on Monday, July 9, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Tim Pierce. Interment in Mount Zion Cemetery, Galvez. Survived by a daughter, Sherry A. Clark and husband Mike, Denham Springs; two sons, Billy Ashmore Jr. and wife Connie, Liberty, Miss., and Wesley Ashmore and wife Claire, Holden; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Janie and Jesse Erwin, Gonzales, and Denise and Mike Street, Walker; three brothers, Ernest Floyd of Robert, Albert and wife Irma Floyd of Fairway, Mo., and Melvin Floyd of Gonzales; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her first husband, Billy J. Ashmore Sr.; second husband Eugene Hansen; parents, Wesley and Totsy McAlister Floyd; and two nephews, Ernie Floyd and Greg Erwin. Pallbearers will be Bryan Ashmore, Michael J. She was born in New Orleans. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dr. Robert H. Hansen Sr.; a son, Dr. Robert H. Hansen Jr., and daughter-in-law, Colleen L. Hansen; three granddaughters, Ashley, Caroline and Kelly Hansen; a brother and sister-in-law, Col. Charles C. Beale and Carol P. Beale of San Antonio; a sister, Rubye Beale Bernard of Baton Rouge; two nephews and a niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde C. Beale and Effie White Beale; and two sisters, Aline Beale and Mary Alice Jones Beale. She had a career in business, having graduated from a business college in New Orleans. She worked at Exxon during the war years and then managed her husband's office for more than 20 years until his retirement. She was a 57-year member of East Baton Rouge Parish Medical Society Alliance, Baton Rouge Art League and a local garden club. Box 126, Baton Rouge, LA 70821. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge): 9/23/2005 HANSEN, ROBERT H. , M.D., A native of Hammond, he passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005, at Landmark Nursing Home in Baton Rouge. He was 87. He graduated from LSU and LSU Medical School in New Orleans and interned at Charity Hospital. He was with Stanocola Medical Group for 10 years. A veteran of the Korean War, he held the rank of major in the Army Medical Corps with the 1st Division, the "Big Red One," in the European Theater. After being discharged, he was one of six physicians in the United States to receive a fellowship at the Mayo Foundation in anesthesiology. After his training at Mayo, he continued his studies at Massachusetts General Hospital and Children's Hospital in Boston. He became the first board-certified anesthesiologist in Baton Rouge. He was in private practice in anesthesiology until his retirement. He is survived by his son, Dr. Robert H. Hansen Jr.; daughter-in-law, Colleen L. Hansen; and three granddaughters, Ashley, Caroline and Kelly Hansen. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Norma Beale Hansen; and his parents, Fred F. and Addie Dunn Hansen. He was a member of the East Baton Rouge Medical Society and American Society of Anesthesiology and was an alumnus of the Mayo Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Foundation. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of St. James Lodge 47, F&AM, and New Orleans Scottish Rite. McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond is in charge of arrangements. A family memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at Greenlawn Cemetery, Hammond. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. James Episcopal Church, P.O.
