He was 64 and a native of Scotlandville. Religious service at First Presbyterian Church, 1246 Rosenwald Road, Scotlandville, on Tuesday, Jan. 22, at 7 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Sandra Martin. Visiting at Carney-Mackey Funeral Home on Wednesday, Jan. 23, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Interment in Southern Memorial Gardens. Survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary L. Myers, of Baton Rouge; three daughters, Mrs. Alison H. Dove, of San Leandro, Calif., Mrs. Lydia Scott, of Hammond and Andrea Hardesty Gerald, of Chicago; two sons, Courtney T. Hardesty and Donald A. Hardesty; two sisters, Jeanette Purvis, of Fayetteville, N.C. and husband and Natalie Shaffer, of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Clarence R. Washington, of Baton Rouge and wife, and Joseph Washington Jr., of Peterbrough, England, and wife; former wife, Vercie Hardesty Banks; a very special friend, Lois; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his father, Master Sgt.
