He was 70, born June 14, 1935, in Ponchatoula, and was a resident of Baton Rouge. He was a graduate of Ponchatoula High School and Loyola School of Pharmacy. Mr. Harriss was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church and was a sergeant first class in the Louisiana National Guard. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Angela Gwen Harriss Luker and Kevin Luker, Baton Rouge; two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian Scott and Rebecca Harriss, Baton Rouge, and Micah Bradley and Alicia Harriss, Youngsville; four grandchildren, Patrick Brian and Brandon Scott Harriss and Meghan Lucille and Hannah Leigh Luker; two sisters, Edith Yvonne Harriss, Ponchatoula, and Mona Liles and husband, Lyndle Bullard, Franklinton; and stepfather, Francis B. Liles, Franklinton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lollie Lucille Fitzmorris "Lou" Harriss; grandson, Cason Bradley Harriss; mother, Edith Vinyard Harriss Liles; and father, Micajah Shepard Harriss V. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, June 24. Visitation at First United Methodist Church, Ponchatoula, from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 25. Interment in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery, Covington. Pallbearers will be Hollis Cowen Jr., Jeron Fitzmorris, James Willard Fitzmorris, Glen Fitzmorris, Richard East and Lawrence Powell. Honorary pallbearers are Lawrence Ceedie Fitzmorris and Clarence McBride. The family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses and staff at Sherwood Manor, Dr. Joseph Albergamo and Crystal, Dr. Lara Falcon, Dr. Michael Corona, Dr. Peter Luscy and their staffs, NNA Dialysis and the nurses at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet for their care and compassion.
