He was 71 and a native of Kentwood. He was employed at Dixon Correctional Institute with 22 years of service in security and was retired for the past seven years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran with more than 20 years of service. Visiting was at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, on Tuesday, Nov. 15, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Wednesday, Nov. 16, from 11 a.m. until service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Ernie Felps. Interment in Port Hudson National Cemetery. He is survived by his spouse of 13 years, Katherine Husk Hartman, Jackson; two daughters, Kayla Burson, Shreveport, and Lisa Keller and her husband, Gerald Keller Sr., of Jackson; three sons, Steve Hartman and his wife, Gena Allen Hartman, Sweetwater, Tenn., Paul Hartman and his wife, Dorothy, Stone Wall, and Timothy Husk and his wife, Joey Lynn Platte Husk, Slaughter; a sister, Mary DeLatte, Jackson; brother, Charles Hartman and his wife, Emma Hartman, Jackson; 10 grandchildren and four great-grand- children. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sharh Bethe Parker Hartman; parents, William H. Sr. and Pinkie Smith Hartman; two brothers, William H. Hartman Jr. and John Edward Hartman; and a sister, Verna Mae Hartman. He was born on Friday, March 25, 1949, in Independence, son of the late William Hartman II and Mary Nuccio Hartman Licardi. Surviving are 3 sons & daughters-in-law, Shane & Monica Hartman, Frank & Tyleda Hartman and Jason & Brandy Hartman; 3 grand- children, Johnathan, Cheyanne & Olevia Hartman; many brothers & sisters.
