He was born October 29, 1940 in Independence and was 72 years of age. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran of Vietnam where he served on the U.S.S. Midway and was a member of the Seabees. He is survived by his wife, Coleen Harvin; daughter, D'Anne Harvin; step-daughter, Shirley Daveshwar; 2 step-sons, David Creech and wife, Teri and Neil Creech and wife, Karla; step-grandchildren, Trent and Travis Creech and Jonathan and Shelby Bennett; step-great-grandson, Michael; 2 sisters, Grace Forcha and Pauline Rushing; 2 brothers, Marshall Harvin and Bob Harvin and wife, Debbie; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his son, Schley Douglas Harvin; parents, Schley and Imogene Harvin; step-grandson, William Marshall Creech.
