There will be a memorial service at Community Bible Church, 8354 Jefferson Highway, on Thursday, Jan. 17, at 6 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Bruce Worrell. She is survived by nine nieces and nephews, A.W. Bridges, Cathy Hastings, Susan Pray and David Hastings, all of Baton Rouge, Robert Earl Bridges and Benny Ray Bridges, both of Shreveport, Betty Elane Lawrence, of Liberty, Texas, Linda Graziano, of Hammond, and Thomas Hastings, of Longview, Texas; and a sister-in-law, Mildred Hastings, of Baton Rouge. Malcolm G. Hastings was born June 15, 1938, and passed away at 10:40 a.m., Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, at his residence surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was 72, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Arcola. Mr. Malcolm was a deacon of Hillsdale Baptist Church, teacher and coach, member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, Society of Americans Magicians and the Fellowship of Christian Magicians. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Miller Hastings, Arcola; five children, Gwendolyn Hastings Autin and husband, Johnny, Hammond, Malcolm "Bo" Hastings and wife, Glenda, Spartanburg, S.C., William Kenneth Hastings and wife Mary, Calendonia, Miss., Benjamin Hastings and wife Brittany, Ponchatoula, and Brynn Hastings Campo and husband, Sam, Amite; 12 grandchildren and one on the way; and seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Errol and Hazel Bickford Hastings; grandson, Malcolm L. Hastings Jr.; and brother, Paul Bickford. Visitation at Hillsdale Baptist Church, Hillsdale, on Wednesday, Nov. 3, from 9 a.m. until Celebration of Life worship service at noon with the Rev.
