HATFIELD, DEE ROBERT
A resident of Amite, he died at 10:24 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007, at Hood
Memorial Hospital, Amite. He was 83, born Aug. 21, 1924, in Smackover,
Ark., and a U.S. Army veteran. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite,
Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes Wednesday from 8 a.m. until
religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Jerry Barber, the Rev.
J.D. Hunt and the Rev. Michael Bassemier. Interment in Amite Memorial
Gardens, Amite. He is survived by his wife, Jessie Lofton Hatfield, Amite;
two daughters, Linda Marie Bassemier, Amite, and Kathy Hatfield, Watson;
three sons, Robert Lewis Hatfield, Denham Springs, Edgar Dee Hatfield,
Tickfaw, and Ricky E. Hatfield, Amite; nine grandchildren; 15 great-
grandchildren; a sister, Jo Ann Bassinger, Ringgold; and two brothers, Paul
Daniel Hatfield, Winnsboro, and Bobby Ray Hatfield, Poplarville, Miss.
Preceded in death by his daughter, Gay Diane Rewis; granddaughter, Rebecca
Bassemier; grandson, Jacob Hatfield; two sisters, Maxine Smith and Irma
Jean Smith; and parents, Dee Attrice Hatfield and Annie Marie Pruitt

HATFIELD, JESSIE MARIE
A resident of Amite, she died at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2010, at her 
home. She was 79, born May 30, 1931, in McCall, Miss. Visitation at 
Roseland Praise and Worship Pentecostal Church, 62466 Washington Ave., 
Roseland, on Monday, June 21, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes at 
the church Tuesday, June 22, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 
11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Jerry Barber. Interment in Amite Memorial 
Gardens, Amite. Survived by two daughters, Linda Marie Bassemire, Amite, 
and Kathy Hatfield, Watson; three sons, Robert Lewis Hatfield, Denham 
Springs, Edgar Dee Hatfield, Robert, and Ricky E. Hatfield, Amite; six 
sisters, Ruby Sutterfield, Dixie Garner, Eunice Myers, Mable Adkerson, 
Flora Newsom and Hilda Sutton; two brothers, Harvey Lofton and Walter 
Lofton; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in 
death by her husband, Dee Robert Hatfield; daughter, Gaye Diane Rewis; 
granddaughter, Rebekah Bassemire; grandson, Jacob Hatfield; two brothers, 
James Lofton and Horace Lofton; and parents, Horace and Cammie Margaret
