She was a native of Tangipahoa. Survivors include five sisters, Jessie and Terry Hawthorne, Tangipahoa, Cynthia Cole,Independence, Reba and Diane Hawthorne, Baton Rouge; six brothers, Elija, Jamie, Kentreel and Dartheren Hawthorne, all of Tangipahoa, Eric Hawthorne, Amite, Paul Hawthorne, California. Her mother, Christine Hawthorne, preceded her in death. Visitation will be at Angelic Funeral Home, Roseland, today from 2 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will follow in Sweet Home Baptist Church Cemetery, Kentwood. ************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star on: 2/19/2004 HAWTHORNE, JESSIE MAE Tangipahoa - Jessie Mae Hawthorne, 34, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, at Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center, Independence. She was a native of Tangipahoa. She is survived by four sons, Terry and Monthrell Hawthorne, both of Tangipahoa, Derisha Hawthorne of Roseland and Tony Hawthorne of Independence; one daughter, Keisha Hawthorne of Greensburg; four sisters, Cynthia Coleman of Independence, Terry Hawthorne of Osyka, Miss., and Reve Hawthorne and Dianca Hawthorne, both of Baton Rouge; six brothers, Jamie Hawthorne of Amite, Kentrell Hawthorne of Kentwood, Elijha Hawthorne of Natalbany, Thorne Hawthorne of Independence, Paul Hawthorne and Eric Hawthorne, both of California; and her father, Elijha Carter of Tangipahoa. She was preceded in death by her mother, Chrestine Hawthorne; and one sister, Chrestine Hawthorne. Visitation will be Friday at Richardson Funeral Home, Amite, from 5 to 9 p.m. The Rev. Celestin Harris will conduct the funeral Saturday at 11 a.m. at Brown Chapel Baptist Church, Tangipahoa. Burial will be at Brown Quinn Cemetery, Tangipahoa.
