She was born on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1926, in Woodhaven, daughter of the late Calvin Marshall Bankston and the late Jessie Lee Land Bankston. She was a homemaker. Surviving are two daughters, Jessie Lee Hayes and Jamie Johnson; nine sons, Jim Jr., Ray Sr., Benny, Steve, John, David, Bill, Travis and Mark Hayes; 22 grand- children and 28 great-grandchildren; brother, Huey P. Bankston; and sister, Harilyn Bankston. Preceded in death by her husband, Jim Moore Hayes; three sisters, Carolyn Bankston, Ossie B. Thompson and Clydene Bankston Hutchinson; and brother, Leo Bankston.
