She was the daughter of Donna Gourrier Head and Darone Head, Baton Rouge. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Septima Altemus Gourrier; paternal grandparents, Jackie and Dora Head, Los Angeles; and two aunts, Peggy Gourrier Trim and Charlotte Gourrier; four uncles, Amon Head, Charles Trim, A.J. Gourrier and Adam Gourrier; and cousins, including Wallace Gourrier, Reggie Davis Jr., Charles Trim Jr. and De'drick Gourrier, all of Baton Rouge; and many great-aunts and great-uncles. Graveside services at Big Zion Cemetery, Roseland, at 11 a.m. Monday. Richardson Funeral Home, Amite, in charge of arrangements. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star on: 8/19/2001 HEAD, HORACE LYNN Horace Lynn Head, 69, of Hammond, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital after a long illness. A native of Malvern, Ark., he was a certified public accountant and had worked in Baton Rouge, Covington and Fall Church Va. He received a bachelor's degree from Louisiana Tech University in 1957, served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the CPA Society, the N.O.D.A. in Louisiana and Mississippi, the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. He loved fresh water fishing and playing English darts. Survivors include his wife, Joann Byrne Head of Hammond; his daughters, Peggy Head of Hammond, and Joycelyn Head Jamieson of Smithdale, Miss.; his sons, David Head of Austin, Texas, and Daniel "Danny" Head of Haughton; his brother, James D. Head of Arlington, Va.; two grandchildren and and two great-grandchildren. The funeral was held Saturday at Bailey Mortuary, Springhill. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harliee and Lelia Daniels; a son, Harliee Head; her husband, James Franklin Head Sr.; a sister, Oura Daniels Butler; three brothers, Horace, Herman and Jack Daniels; and an infant child, Dayia Head. Visitation will be Friday at Richardson Funeral Home, Amite, from 5 to 8 p.m. The Rev.
